I've found a treasure in my own backyard! If you don't know about Pretty Women Consignment, you need to visit ASAP. Its been in Orlando for almost 10 years now. It was started by 3 friends who are all plus size women (1X to 3X). They had corporate jobs and making pretty good money. However, like many, they slowly, one by one, were being laid off. So, they invested their own money in creating PWC. They all had the same issue, which most of us have (I know I do), finding nice clothes for their shape & size. That is why they started this wonderful venture.
The clothe sizes range from size 14 to 6X. If you are NOT plus size, that's okay. There's still something for everyone, from beautiful pieces of jewelry to gorgeous handbags and shoes. Not only are the clothes already very affordable, but every 3 months (February, May, August and November) they have a BIG SALE. The biggest sale is on Super Bowl. While the fellas are watching the game, you don't have to slave in the kitchen fixin snacks, come on down to PWC and have your own Super Bowl Party!
Since it is a consignment shop, you can bring in clothes & get paid for it! There is a process that Ms.Barb (one of the three co-owners) recommends you call to find out about. If you do want to bring in items, they need to be clean (laundered/dry cleaned) and on hangers. Also, there are lots of women who clean out their closets and want to bring things in and that's fine, but make sure that they are things that people would WANT to buy. Chances are if it smells like mothballs and is very outdated, you don't want it and neither does anyone else. I can attest that Ms.Barb and the other ladies at PWC do a great job in keepin the shop full of CUTE plus size clothes, which is what we shoppers are looking for. Also, PWC does not accept watches or jewelry. So, be sure to CALL AHEAD to get details about what PWC is looking for before you bring in the bags of clothes.
This place has found a loyal customer in me. I love how when I go into PWC, I immediately feel like I'm in a boutique. The atmosphere is great for shopping, its no pressure and the women who work there are super friendly and helpful! P.S. This may sound weird, but when you go, CHECK OUT THE BATHROOM! It is too CUTE! You definately wouldn't mind "handling your business" in there!
